Irregular verbs (also called strong verbs) are the ones that change their stem when conjugated — ich gebe but du gibst, ich nehme but er nimmt. There's no single rule that catches them all, so the path forward is honest practice with the most common ones.

Exercise 1: Irregular German Verbs
A first round with the most common stem-changing verbs — sehen, lesen, geben, nehmen, helfen, fahren. Watch for e → i/ie and a → ä in the du- and er/sie/es-forms.

Exercise 3: Irregular German Verbs
A final mixed round including wissen, gehen, bleiben, wachsen, and empfehlen. Wissen is the odd one out here — it follows a special pattern shared with the modal verbs, so its singular forms look different from its plural forms.
